Convert a table
Prefixes formula-like text cells with an apostrophe. This changes those cell values.
How to convert CSV or JSON
- Choose CSV to JSON or JSON to CSV, then paste text or choose a UTF-8 file.
- Choose the delimiter; CSV input uses its first row as field names.
- Convert and review the preview and output.
- Copy or download the result. Keep the original export for reference.
Keep table data predictable
CSV input supports quoted fields, doubled quote escapes, line breaks inside quoted cells and a leading UTF-8 BOM. Every row must have the same number of cells. Empty or duplicate headers are rejected to avoid silently dropping columns. CSV values remain strings, so identifiers such as 00123 keep their leading zeros.
JSON input must be an array of flat objects with string, finite number, boolean or null values. Nested objects and arrays need restructuring first. Unsafe integer numbers are rejected; quote long identifiers before converting. Missing fields and null values become empty CSV cells. Standard JavaScript decimal-number precision applies.
Spreadsheet-safe export is enabled by default. It prefixes formula-like text cells with an apostrophe to reduce the chance that a spreadsheet treats them as formulas. This changes those cell values; disable it only when exact raw text is needed and you understand the destination. The preview shows up to 20 rows while the downloadable output includes all converted rows.
Privacy and browser support
Your input is handled in this browser tab. Selected files and entered text are not sent to Varento Tools by this tool. Some specialized libraries load only when needed. A browser with JavaScript and sufficient device memory is required. Read our local-processing explanation.

Frequently asked questions
Is this tool free without daily usage limits?
Yes. Varento Tools has no signup, accounts, usage-count caps, paywalls or watermarks. Device memory, format support and browser restrictions can still limit technically demanding files.
Does CSV input automatically become numbers?
No. Values remain strings to preserve formatting, including leading zeros and dates.
Can I use semicolons or tabs?
Yes. Select the delimiter matching the input or the desired CSV output.
Can I convert nested JSON?
Not in this flat-table utility. Flatten nested values first rather than silently losing their structure.
Why does an exported cell start with an apostrophe?
Spreadsheet-safe export prefixes formula-like text values. Its checkbox lets you choose between safer spreadsheet opening and exact raw export.
