How to convert WebP to JPG

  1. Add one or more WebP images.
  2. Choose JPEG quality and a background colour for transparency.
  3. Convert, then compare the actual original and result sizes.
  4. Download JPGs separately or collect the batch in a ZIP.

JPEG compatibility with clear trade-offs

JPG is useful for applications, photo workflows and upload forms that do not accept WebP. This tool keeps the image dimensions and exports a real JPEG file, rather than just changing the filename extension. The displayed output format makes the conversion explicit.

JPEG cannot hold transparent pixels. White is the default background, and the colour picker lets you choose a different solid background before conversion. JPEG encoding is also lossy. A high quality setting can retain more visual detail, but WebP may still be the smaller source format.

Animated WebP becomes a still image, so this tool is not an animation converter. Source EXIF and profile metadata are not copied. Keep the source if you need motion, transparency or an archival original. If your destination accepts PNG and transparency matters, use WebP to PNG instead.

Need to retain transparency instead? Use WebP to PNG.

Frequently asked questions

Is this tool free without daily usage limits?

Yes. Varento Tools has no signup, accounts, usage-count caps, paywalls or watermarks. Device memory, format support and browser restrictions can still limit technically demanding files.

Are JPG and JPEG different outputs?

No. They are two common filename extensions for the same format.

Why did my transparent area become solid?

JPEG has no transparency channel. The chosen background is composited behind the image.

Will JPG always be smaller than WebP?

No. WebP is often efficient already. The tool reports the actual result rather than assuming a reduction.

Can I process a WebP batch?

Yes. Add multiple WebP files and use individual downloads or the ZIP option.
